Spike’s K9 Fund is a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting America’s working dogs by providing lifesaving equipment, medical care, training resources, and protective gear. The website was redesigned to clearly communicate programs, enable straightforward donation and application flows, and reflect the organization’s commitment to canine safety and operational readiness.

Research
Research centered on understanding the needs of both working K9 units and their handlers, as well as the informational expectations of donors and advocates. This phase included evaluating how nonprofit audiences seek impact metrics, program descriptions, and ways to contribute — ensuring content and structure align with key motivations to support working dogs.

Design
Design emphasized a structured layout, strong hierarchy, and approachable visual language that reinforces trust and transparency. Visual elements and program highlights were crafted to help users quickly understand the five key campaign areas, the impact they have on working dogs, and how they can become part of the support community.
Concept
The concept focused on creating a clear, organized digital experience that balances emotional connection with operational clarity. The goal was to showcase the mission and tangible impact of Spike’s K9 Fund while making critical actions — like donating, applying for assistance, or learning about programs — immediately visible and accessible.

Development
The site was developed to prioritize accessibility, performance, and ease of content updates for the internal team. Donation and program application paths were built to be intuitive on both desktop and mobile, with scalable components that allow Spike’s K9 Fund to grow its campaigns and impact messaging over time without sacrificing clarity.
